Objective

We needed to effectively communicate the H2NorthEast (H2NE) project through compelling visual storytelling, making complex blue hydrogen concepts accessible to key audiences, including government bodies, industry stakeholders, local supply chain partners, and the general public. The goal was to:

Solution

Myriad Global produced a high-quality 3D visualisation combining real-world footage with animation to illustrate the project’s scale, function, and impact.

  • Real drone footage provided context and authenticity.
  • 3D animation overlays progressively built the facility in scale and location.
  • An in-depth 3D tour explained the hydrogen production process and Johnson Matthey technology.
  • Motion graphics and text overlays reinforced key messaging.

Process and Strategy

A structured approach ensured the project was delivered within the 8-week timeline.

  • Script Development: Close collaboration between Myriad Global and Kellas Midstream to create an engaging, informative script.
  • Voiceover: Sourced and recorded a professional narration.
  • 3D Modelling: Fully textured models created based on client-supplied CAD files.
  • Motion Graphics: 2D text overlays to support clarity and engagement.
  • Animation & Tracking: Integrated 3D assets into drone footage for seamless realism.
  • Still Renders: Delivered four high-resolution images for stakeholder use.
  • File Delivery: MP4 format provided with and without subtitles for flexible use.

Results

The final deliverables effectively communicated the H2NE project’s vision, enhancing engagement with stakeholders and the public.

  • Primary Asset: A 2–2.5 minute 3D animation showcasing the project.
  • Secondary Asset: A standalone Blue Hydrogen explainer video for social media.
  • Supporting Materials: Four high-quality rendered images for presentations and reports.

The video not only served as a presentation tool but also as a way to generate interest and understanding among stakeholders and the public alike. The project also included detailed breakdowns of key processes, helping to demystify blue hydrogen production and its role in sustainable energy. This visualisation provided an engaging, accessible way to showcase the H2NE project’s role in the UK’s decarbonisation strategy.
